Cooperstown Central School has been chosen as a site by the Regional Food Bank for their Backpack Child Nutrition Program. The Backpack Program provides a backpack of non-perishable, easy to prepare food to each selected child every Friday afternoon to eat throughout the weekend. The empty backpack is then returned to school every Monday morning so that it can be filled again for Friday. The goal of the program is to provide supplemental food to assist families in meeting the nutritional needs of their children. The program is confidential.
The program is scheduled to begin in October 2022 and will continue throughout the school year. There is no cost for the program. Families are asked to re-apply to the program each year by calling or emailing, using the contact information below. Re-enrollment each school year is required for the program.
If you would like your child to participate in this program, please contact Sara Mileski for K-6 students or Mary Clare Roberts for 7-12 students. If you have children in both buildings, either contact person can assist you. Sara Mileski can be reached at 607-547-4179 or smileski@cooperstowncs.org. Mary Clare Roberts can be reached at 607-282-1038 or mcroberts@cooperstowncs.org.
